FAQ

Got Questions?

Can event organizers choose their local currency when creating an event?

Yes! Organizers can pick any supported currency in their account settings or when creating a specific event. All ticket tiers and marketing previews will show in that currency.

Why does the checkout show that attendees are paying in South African Rands (ZAR)?

Ticket Africa clears transactions through Paystack South Africa, which settles payments in ZAR. To support payments from every African nation without requiring 20 separate local bank entities, we convert the local price transparently to ZAR at checkout via live Frankfurter.dev feeds.

How are live exchange rates calculated and updated?

We use Frankfurter.dev, an open-source currency API that sources mid-market reference rates published directly by the European Central Bank (ECB). There are zero hidden bank markups added to the exchange rate.

In which currencies can organizers receive their payouts?

Organizers can request payouts in South African Rands (ZAR) or US Dollars (USD). Once your event concludes and passes verification, your earnings are settled directly to your verified bank account.

Will attendees be charged international transaction fees by their bank?

Most African Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards support cross-border online payments seamlessly. Depending on their bank, a standard foreign transaction fee may apply. Ticket Africa displays the exact ZAR amount upfront before payment.
